Four New Tracks!

That's right!! FOUR, yes FOUR new songs cranked out recently: Arcturus, Collision Sphere, Hydra, and Helios.

Arcturus is a fairly fast paced track with influences from Spanish music, metal, and a pinch of punk. This song was built from a semi-Spanish guitar pattern I was noodling around with for what became the clean intro line and verses. It then grew into the harder punk and Dream Theater type progressions you hear throughout the song.

Collision Sphere is a much slower track, but still hits hard in parts. It has elements of melodic guitar lines and smooth pitch bending strings reminiscent of the metroid series, which grows into more in-your-face patterns with lead guitar lines.

Hydra is my very first song written on my new 7-string and possibly one of my most complex pieces. It incorporates ideas of dark leads accompanied by low end 7-string rhythms, Steve Vai influenced lines, tempo changes, orchestral instruments, and much more—I'm really proud of this track!

Helios started off as primarily a 6-string song, but of course the 7 pushed its way into the mix. I'd consider this track to be more alternative than anything, but is still fairly hard. It features quite a few guitar tracks playing simultaneously (some areas have as many as 6 guitar tracks going at once) consisting of both the 6 and the 7-string guitars. Towards the end you'll find a nifty little solo I threw together last minute.

Anyway, enjoy the new tracks on the [music page] and keep this site bookmarked for much more new music in the future.
