New Track: Three to the Four
11/27/08 4:10 PM by Ron Gablehouse
I'm cranking out tracks like crazy lately—hopefully I don't run out of creative juices. If you haven't had a chance to listen to the other two songs I recently uploaded to this site, be sure to check out 'Neptune' and 'Mexico' on the music player page. It's thanksgiving and besides eating myself into a coma, I finished yet ANOTHER new song: Three to the Four.
The main guitar riff you hear in the intro is actually something I had been working with for years now, but never really knew how to expand on it until now. I had played with the idea of writing a strictly 3:4 song, but noticed that this riff sounded great as almost a polyrhythm over a 4:4 beat, which pretty much spawned the rest of the song. As you can tell, the verse pattern is very similar to the intro, yet it follows only a 4:4 signature. From there I put together a simple chorus and breakdown before the ending/intro repeat. The track still needed a little bit more, so I added some string accompaniment to compliment everything in the song a little bit further. Despite the lack of vocals, as all my tracks direly need lately, I feel that this is pretty much finished.
Listen to Three to the four, along with all my music, on the music player page. Thanks for checking it out!
